Blogilates day dos
Just a quick record of the newly tried workouts. Besides teaching 5 classes yesterday I tried two new workouts from Cassey Ho.
POP Pilates: Backless Dress Workout
No music to this one, but awesome for back, arms, and even a little legs.
Call Me Maybe Mighty Squat Challenge (Carly Rae
Jepson.)
Squats are killer; so it’s a breath of fresh air when she switched to plies. Yay for dancer legs!
Hi tumblr, I’m new, and so are my workouts!
I’m new and very late to the whole tumblr thing. I’m a pinterest fanatic, but have been told a number of times how tumblr is superior. Either way, I created a blog yesterday when I was searching for new at home workouts. I’m finally using an app called My Fitness Pal. I downloaded it in the fall, but never used it. I have been sneaking a peek at my weight every time I see the scale in my boyfriend’s bathroom… let’s just say sometimes I’m happier than others. I decided I’m usually very active so eating has to be my problemo. My fitness pal adds your calories automatically and even lets you scan bar codes on packages, which makes it totally easy. I typed in my info and that I’d like to lose 1.5 lbs a week. Of course, I’m not going to swear by the app and I know one night of drinking can off set the entire week, but it’s helping me to make conscious choices and avoid mindless snacking (that I love oh so much!).
Any who, I found a tumblr with an awesome list of video links.
I tried a kickboxing one yesterday (which scored me about 320 more calories to eat :)). I’ll do it again someday, but it just wasn’t my thing. My next attempt was POP Pilates. I’ve heard of POP Pilates before, but I’m a yoga girl so I wasn’t very interested. It turns out that it’s really fun because she isolates Pilates moves and does them to a Pop song; thus Pop Pilates. She does the short workout with you the entire time. She’s GORGEOUS and I’d love to have her physique! Sounds simple, but I was dying and loved it!
Her name is Cassey Ho, and on her own blog she suggested that we blog about our workout, so here it goes:
I first tried the POP Pilates: Slimmer Inner Thighs & Runner’s Calves. Just calf raises and leg circles, but my legs were quivering by the end! Songs in this 12m workout included “Secrets” by One Republic, “Live Like We’re Dying” by Kris Allen, and “All the Right Moves” by One Republic.
When the video stopped her most recent post, an ab challenge, popped up. Since my legs were isolated in the first workout I decided to try it. Abs All Night Challenge: Ouch! It’s only 3m and is done to One Direction’s “Up All Night”. She mixes up the same move for a good mental break without missing out on the physical benefits.
Last, but not least, I tried the Toned Triceps Challenge to Payphone by Maroon 5. I thought triceps dips would be a nice complement, but now my arms quiver when I fix my hair. Sounds like a light workout, but my muscles beg to differ. I can’t wait to try more tomorrow. :)!
Hopefully this cancels out my free small popcorn tonight at Movie Monday!
